January 22 - Cruising the Pacific Ocean

We are at sea today with many great lectures.  One was by Terry Schroeder, a three-time Olympian in water polo and the second morning lecture by Sir Mark Lyall Grant who talked about Pakistan, a most informative lecture.  Mary also attended a lecture on Fabergé eggs…beautiful items.

In the afternoon we had a lecture by one of our biologists, Marine biologist Dr. Jay Christofferson, who talked about whales.

The last lecture of the day was by our onboard astronomer, Dennis Mammana, who talked about his list of the Seven Wonders of the Cosmos.  Great photos and graphics from the Hubble Telescope and others.

The show tonight was by the onboard Crystal entertainers.  The song and dance show featured a fairly wide range of songs from the Great American Songbook plus some Latin songs.  The group was good but after a while the songs all sounded alike, they were loud and the beat was almost identical throughout the evening (except for the Latin beat).

We did get a nice map of the entire world cruise itinerary plus two refrigerator magnets for the cruise.  Too bad we don't have a refrigerator to put them on.
