March 14 – Cape Town, South Africa

We cancelled our morning shore excursion as it was pretty much just doing the Chapman Peak Drive, which we did yesterday.  So today was a leisurely day around the ship.  Late afternoon we had to go to the adjacent port to go through South Africa disembarkation customs.  Took about 15 minutes…not a big deal.

The entertainment tonight was four gentlemen called the Four D’s.  They sang lots of songs from the boys groups of the 50’s and early 60’s.  There were lots of familiar songs and the audience loved them.  They were very good.

This evening they announced that the port of Cape Town had been closed due to strong winds and that we would be delayed leaving the port.  They may have been late leaving but not too late as when we looked out from our balcony later in the evening we could see the lights on the shoreline of South Africa…so we were on our way.
