Three
days at sea…lectures and eating and entertainment and eating and working on our
photos and eating and working on photos some more.
So much very good food and so little time.
Lectures:
We’ve attended the following lectures in these three days:
·
The Brendan Voyage, Part 2
·
All about Leaks (as in political leaks, not
the leaks on the Brendan)
·
West Africa, Welcome to Senegal and Cape Verde
·
A Nation of Minorities (that is the US)
·
Exploring the Oceans and the Mediterranean
·
Ocean Views – a panel discussion about world
events featuring Ambassador Tony Leon, Journalist Tom DeFrank (50 years as
the White House correspondent for Newsweek) and Journalist Eugene Robinson
·
My Adventures as a Best-Selling Author by
Joshua Young (writes about Hollywood and has written biographies of several
stars)
These
topics are typical of what we have got to see in the last two plus months. It is all fascinating.
Entertainment:
We skipped the entertainment (a singing duo) on the 24th. Mary went to the entertainment on the 25th featuring the on board professional dance duo Curtis and Beverly. They are amazing. She gets lifted and thrown around and dropped (albeit in a very controlled and safe manner) throughout the routines. It is really amazing. There was also some very nice singing thrown in to give the dancers time to change and catch their breath.

Stacy,
who is the World Cruise Hostess, was a former dancer on the ship and she was
drawn into a rather comic number with Curtis and Beverly. And they brought in one of the Ambassador Hosts
to even out the numbers. The Hosts are
gentlemen who are brought on board to provide dance partners to women who lack
a partner. Crystal is apparently one of the
last cruise lines to have dance hosts.
For
the entertainment on the 26th we saw comedian Steve Stevens (for the
second time). He is a very entertaining
comedian.
On
the 25th we decided to order breakfast in and had a lovely meal on
our balcony. What a nice way to enjoy our ocean view. We need to do this more
often but we are running out of days before the cruise ends.
